Psalm 18:1-6

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the Lord, who spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said: I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
4 The pangs of death surrounded me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.

Last month, I was dealing with a situation...I wrote about it in vague terms in my journal. And I showed you guys this Psalm - Psalm 18. Well, this picture came from this passage.

God is my Shield. He protected me from the ones that wanted to or could have harmed me. He rescued me before I destroyed myself. He's protected me from so much, and has carried me when I was weak.

This is simply my praise to Him, for always shielding me from danger. My Saviour! And again, I can't take credit for the idea. God gave it to me! :D :heart::heart::heart:

It was so odd... while reading over the writing and looking at the picture.. I got this odd sensation crawling up my spine and I felt my eyes start to tear... Honestly.. every picture you draw hits me so deep inside.

I also feel like he is a protector... but I'm not sure really how to explain it... he watches over what we do and I feel he doesn't exactly interfere directly, but helps the person somehow to learn what they've wronged on their own. .__.

I can relate to this:) I've recently read that Psalm although it was a different version but still the verse is familiar..don't we all need to come to Him for refuge..i love this piece! Its...just :wow:

Really? :hug: I didn't realize my pictures were that...powerful. :O But I guess thats a good thing! :heart::heart::heart:

Yeah, I can see that too...because I know that He can let us know when we've done wrong without, say, "punishment". But at the same time, when we are in danger, I think He can protect us as well. I've been faced with some tricky situations and made it out unscathed, when I thought for sure danger was ahead. And prayer most dfinitely helps!

Yeah, lots of the psalms are similar. :) I chose 18, since it was the one I read, and actually its super long, so I only posted the first part. I love the second verse, since it says God is my Strength, He is my Shield....it helped me so much when I was in those situations.

Oh cool! :D Yeah, I used to do the 1 chapter of Proverbs a day. Now I read from the Daily Bread devotional pamphlet....so I read Psalms on Sunday! :D Hahaha....but Psalms and Proverbs are so inspirational, they are two of my favorite books to read. :aww:
