I wanted to do a picture about love and dating and all that jazz. I was just drawing it to help me with figure drawing, but it turned into something much deeper.
The heart shaped locket represents the fact that there is one guy out there that God has chosen for her. The white rose in her hand represents purity. She is wearing something like a wedding dress I suppose, representing that she is "waiting for marriage." The yellow ribbons also represent her patience and waiting. I read that women sometimes tie a yellow ribbon to remind them of their husbands that are off to sea or at war - I kind of wanted to symbolize the same concept, except she is waiting for him to come to her, waiting for him to find her. So yeah. This happens to be a big part of my life. Yes, its possible to live to be 18 and not date someone. That's me.  I've found it a struggle, but living single certainly has it benefits, and I'm much happier waiting on God's direction than blindly searching for the right one, all the while tearing my heart in pieces. Now you get some lyrics and a spifftastic video to one of my favorite songs ever.  At least listen to the music. The song is wonderful! And they put it to Lord of the Rings!!!  I love this video.
